There is a drop-off slot in the front door for payments
City government provides fire and police protection, streets and street maintenance, sewer and water treatment and collection systems, building permit activities, libraries, parks and recreation activities. It is also responsible for land use planning within the city limits and urban growth boundaries. Hines operates a municipal court for adjudication of traffic and ordinance violations.
Hines is the home of Hines Middle School, Valley Golf Club, US Forest Service, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, Harney Electric Cooperative, Hines Post Office, a number of churches and various businesses.
